Crawling and flying insects are some of the most common pests encountered in residential, commercial and hospitality environments. This broad category includes ants, cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, moths, beetles, silverfish and many other nuisance or public-health pests. Although these insects are often grouped together, each species behaves differently and requires a treatment plan suited to its biology, breeding cycle and preferred harbourage areas.

A professional insect-control programme may use a combination of gel baits, residual sprays, dusts, insect growth regulators, traps, monitoring devices, space treatments and targeted crack-and-crevice applications. The selected formulation is important. A product that works well on an exposed surface may be unsuitable for a drain, wall void, food-handling zone or sensitive indoor area.
